What are Montessori 3-part cards

3-part Montessori cards, sometimes called naming or ranking cards, are an excellent tool to help your child expand the flyover, enrich the language, and advance new concepts.

They can be used for naming, matching or pairing, making sequences, reading, writing, and sorting.
It is a very versatile material, intended for ages 3–6 and 6–9 years.

The 3-part cards consist of:

  • a picture card
  • a card with a caption
  • and a control card with the image and caption together

These materials must respect the Montessori principles by using:

  • realistic images (because children are still getting to know the world and cannot differentiate fantasy from real).
  • and white background focused on the subject to minimize distractions and promote concentration (because young children are easily distracted).

This material can be used by parents, teachers, or guides.
They can be used at home, school, homeschool, therapy centers, and special education.
It is also used for bilingual children who are learning a new language.
